Fishermen in Samanaji town, Koko Besse Local Government Area in Kebbi State, have trapped and killed a Hippopotamus which was said to be wreaking havoc on Farmlands in the area.
The Aqua animal was killed by teams of fishermen who have been trailing its movements for some time.
Reports from the area, however, indicated that the Council’s Chairman Bello Sarkin Gabas alongside his Council Members have visited the scene of the event yesterday morning.
In reaction to this, the Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has promised to take drastic measures towards saving the lives of wildlife intruding the state territories.
