An American parent admitted in his suicide note that he’d rather to “rot in hell” than deal with a “manipulative” wife before killing himself, his five children, his wife, and his mother-in-law.
After being under investigation for child abuse, Michael Haight, 42, shot and killed his wife, her mother, and the couple’s five children on January 4.
Haight said in his suicide letter that his wife Tausha was the reason he become violent. Investigations revealed that he was the abuser in the household and his wife was the victim, yet he still proceeded to do so.
Unsettling bodycam footage of the shooting, which depicts officers approaching the family’s home as their bodies were inside, has also been published by the local police and the city of Enoch.
This is nonsense and I can’t handle it for one more day. We will not be a burden on society. I kept asking for help and you wouldn’t listen,’ Haight wrote. ‘I would rather rot in hell than to put up with another day of this manipulation and control over me.’
Also murdered by Haight were his daughters Macie, Briley, Sienna, and sons Ammon and Gavin, as well as Tausha’s mother Gail Early, 78.
Tausha had planned to file for divorce from her controlling husband when he exterminated her and the rest of their family.
Matt Munson, Haight’s lawyer, did not immediately respond to a comment request on Friday.
