Bello Turji, a notorious bandit leader in Nigeria, has made defiant statements against the Nigerian government, asserting that he and his followers are not afraid of death.
In a recent video, Turji warned the government to stop sending Service Chiefs to confront his group, claiming that their willingness to take up arms proves their fearlessness.
This challenge comes amid claims of Turji’s group seizing two Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicles (MRAPs), although the Nigerian Defence Headquarters has dismissed these claims, attributing the vehicles’ condition to being stuck in swampy terrain.
In response to the ongoing banditry, high-ranking military officials, including the Minister of Defence and the Chief of Defence Staff, have intensified their efforts to combat banditry in Sokoto State and the broader North West region.
