After just five days, the most recent Yoruba epic film to open in Nigerian theaters, Beast of Two Worlds (Ajakaju), has brought in ₦101.2 million.
On Thursday, April 4, 2024, FilmOne Entertainment, the movie’s distributor, made the announcement. “On this one, Nigerians are not going to play. We appreciate your faith in every film we release,” the studio stated.
Beast of Two Worlds also grossed an impressive ₦63.2 million in its opening weekend, according to data published by the Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN) on Thursday. The opening weekend record is the biggest for a Nollywood film released this year.
Nollywood actress Eniola Ajao, a first-time producer, and Anthill Studios collaborated on the film Beast of Two Worlds.
The movie tells the tale of a king who, in despair, takes a new bride, bringing turmoil into his kingdom, knowing that he will be banished from his land if he cannot produce a male heir.
Adebayo Tijani and Odunlade Adekola, who also portrays the king, co-direct the movie. Sola Sobowale, Femi Adebayo, Lateef Adedimeji, Mercy Aigbe, Bimbo Akintola, Fathia Balogun, Ibrahim Chatta, Peju Ogunmola, and Olayode Juliana are among the all-star cast members.
